NYX Cosmetics Haul

NYX Cosmetics Haul

A few weeks ago I made a NYX order and have been anxiously waiting for it’s arrival. I ordered online because there isn’t a very great variety of NYX products in the Target near me and all of their products are usually always opened and tested which it quite annoying. I have been wanting to get my hands on the butter glosses and lipsticks for such a long time that I couldn’t wait any longer to try them. All of the products came in a cute lace drawstring bag with the NYX logo on the side which I thought was really cute. I mostly got lip products but there are some blushes thrown into the mix as well.

NYX just recently came out with some baked blushes and after seeing some swatches online I had to get a few for myself. The first one I got is in Wanderlust, a bronzey pink shade, and Foreplay, a dusty rose. I have been on a cream blush kick lately so I picked up  Boho Chic which is a cult favourite, and Tickled which in all honesty wasn’t what I expected. It has a ton of gold shimmers in it so I will have to see if I can work with it. I wanted an eye base that would mute out any discoloration on my lids so I went with the skin tone base. I am looking forward to trying that out and seeing if it will keep my eye shadow on without any creasing.

Next up is the lip products. As I mentioned earlier I have been lusting over the butter glosses and lipsticks so I picked up a few of each. For the glosses I got Peaches & Cream, Vanilla Cream Pie, Apple Strudel, Maple Blondie and Strawberry Parfait. These glosses smell heavenly! I seriously cannot get over how great they smell. As for the lipsticks I picked up Lollies, Sweet Tart, Fizzies, and Candy Buttons. These have no smell, sadly, but I am very excited to try these out!

Continuing on with the lip trend I picked up three of their Matte lipsticks in Tea Rose, Summer Breeze, and Hippie Chic. I thought Summer Breeze and Hippie Chic will be great Spring/Summer colours. In their Round Lipstick line I chose Femme, and Fig. Femme turned out to be a lot more orange that I expected, and Fig a bit darker. Now you can’t go lipstick crazy without picking up some lip liners so I got Nectar, and Plush Red. I certainly have enough lip products to last me for quite a while now and I can’t wait to start playing around with them.

The Coral Edit

Coral beauty products for spring and summer

Coral is one of those colours that a lot of people gravitate towards in the Spring and Summer months. When the warmer weather hits I’m all about bright, bold nails and lips and can’t wait to dig out my coral hued products.

I love rocking coral polishes on my toes. I love how the bright pop of colour looks amazing against tan skin (not that I can get one naturally). Right now I am rocking Carousel Coral by Essie and it is beyond stunning. For cheeks, I recently purchased this new product by Maybelline called Master Glaze in Coral Sheen. It’s a bright coral cream blush with flecks of gold glitter in it and really glistens on the skin when the sun hits it. Being pale I need all the colour I can get so this definitely does that for me.

I was never one to reach for coral eyeshadows but when I saw this beauty I knew I had to give it a try. It will pop really beautifully against any eye colour and the iridescence of this eyeshadow really makes your eyes sparkle. It’d be perfect for just a sheer wash of colour on the lid when you need a little pick me up. Last but certainly not least is lips. You really can’t go wrong with a coral lip. Corvina by Bite Beauty has crazy pigment and is super creamy and hydrating. It leans more to the orange spectrum than pink and really stands out and demands attention.

Some New Changes

Hi lovelies!

As you can see, I have changed a few things on my blog recently. When I first started blogging I only posted the makeup looks that I had created, but as time went on I started to get interested in posting about other things. I branched off into reviews, and most recently into fashion and even added some lifestyle posts in there as well. I really want this blog to be more than just about makeup looks and I felt like MakeupByHilary.com wasn’t representing where I am now, as well as where I want to go with my blog in the future. I chose “The Beauty Collective” because I wanted my blog to be a space where I can talk about everything and anything that is beautiful and intriguing. I am thrilled with the change of domain, as well as my new blog layout (some things still need to be ironed out) and I couldn’t be more happier. Here’s to moving forward!

I want to thank you for all of your support, and to my new readers – welcome!

I hope you enjoy the changes as much as I do. x
